Urgent Need: Spanish Translators

God has blessed our mission project and we may have more than our original intended 40 sites. This poses a good problem. We don’t have enough translators in Peru to accomodate our 40+ sites! If you speak Spanish or know someone who does and is interested in joining our mission trip. Please email me at Marella.Rudebaugh@nw.npuc.org.

Purposes—

  1. Develop 40+ soul winners (youth/students, lay members, interns, pastors, conference & union leaders) from the northwest US and beyond to return home and win souls. Each participant will be encouraged to be involved in a Week of Reaping back home April 17-24, 2010.
  2. Win souls in cooperation with the local church leaders and members and strengthen the Seventh-day Adventist work in Peru.

Plan—

  1. Preach, teach and conduct outreach at forty sites (20 student series + 20 full series).
  2. To help with a building project.
  3. Run day medical clinics out of area churches (we can use as many doctors and nurses as there are churches)

Building Project—

Mediania-Final

If you have a group of people who would like to help with a building project as well as evangelism contact Marella.Rudebaugh@nw.npuc.org. Plan to raise additional funds to assist.

  1. Hi! I’m in California at present, yet I want to join the Peru Mission Trip next year.

May I join your team for that mission trip?

    • Dear Judith,

You certainly can join our team and we’d love to have you! We can always use an extra hand. If you would like to preach, however, spots should be available. We will know better after November 30.

  2. I was wanting more information on this trip. I am a skilled worker in the construction trades and would be willing to help build the church. I also have 12 years of experience as a medic and could help out at the medical clinic. I don’t have a lot of experience public speaking but I have led sabath school and preached sermons at church before. Could you send me more info on the building project and medical clinic portion of this trip.

    • Dear Thomas,

I’m so glad that you are interested in Global Missions. Your experience would be very beneficial to our team going to Peru. Sue Patzer will be able to give you more information on the building project. You can contact her at Sue.Patzer@nw.npuc.org.

As for your question about the medical clinics. At this time we are looking for experienced medical personnel to run 1 or more medical clinics, but we haven’t had anyone come forward yet. This can be anywhere from dental work to basic medical needs. If you feel you are qualified to run the clinic, please let me know. Otherwise, we can keep you in mind as a helper.

Lastly, if you decide to go to Peru with us, I would encourage you to preach. Since you have preached before, you are already more than qualified. The presentations are already written for you and the PowerPoint is already prepared and you will be provided a translator if you don’t speak Spanish. These sermons are so simple that we’ve had an 11 year old preach using them. I even used them in the Dominican Republic last spring and I have never been comfortable as a public speaker. I have no doubt that you would do just fine.

Again, thank you for your interest and I hope you decide to join us in Peru!

      • I can help or as a preacher or as a translator

I want to be sure about the cost

        Thanks

    • Dear Kimberly,

If you are interested in being a speaker, you will need to bring your own Spanish translator because we have a shortage and will not have enough for an additional preaching team.
